Where we help

What West Midlands businesses come to us for

The region has more manufacturing, trade supply and light-industrial businesses per square mile than most of the country, and those sell very differently from a consumer trade. Getting that distinction right changes the whole sitemap, not just the wording.

01

Manufacturing and engineering

Capability and process pages a buyer can qualify you from without picking up the phone, RFQ forms that capture the specification and the tolerances, and downloadable drawings and data sheets where the sale depends on them.

02

Trade supply and distribution

Product catalogues with real stock and lead-time positions, delivery coverage answered on the page rather than in an email, and trade account portals for the customers who reorder. This is the shape Quick Fit Shelving is built in.

03

Kitchens, lighting, fitting and installation

Galleries that actually sell finished work, quote flows that arrive with measurements and photographs attached, and a page for each town you install in rather than one homepage covering the lot.

04

Automotive, aftermarket and workshops

Parts and fitment lookups that return the right result, service booking that respects bay capacity, and the automation between enquiry, quote and job sheet that stops the same detail being typed three times.

The dividing line is who is buying. A consumer picks on proximity, so the site is structured by place. A trade buyer picks on capability, so it is structured by product. Building one and selling it to the other is the commonest expensive mistake here.

Process

How a project runs

The same four steps whether you are in Birmingham or anywhere else in the country.

Step 01

A call, and a written scope

We start from the one job the thing has to do — take the booking, take the order, stop the afternoon of copy-paste. Every feature gets measured against that job, and the ones that do not serve it do not get built.

Step 02

A fixed price and a date

Both in writing before any work starts. A page-priced build does not turn into an hourly one halfway through, and the scope you approved is the scope you get.

Step 03

Built where you can watch it

It goes up on a real URL as it is made, and you talk to the engineer writing it rather than to an account manager relaying it. Changes are cheapest while it is still being built, which is the point.

Step 04

Live, indexed and handed over

Launch, sitemap submitted, structured data valid, and the page structure documented so you or anyone after us can extend it without guessing.

Cost

Published, so you can decide now

The same rates everywhere in the UK. We do not price by postcode, and a Birmingham business pays what every other client pays.

All of it negotiable, and fixed in writing before any work starts. See the full pricing page for what counts as a page and what moves the number.

Coverage

Birmingham and the six boroughs around it

The West Midlands metropolitan county is seven councils and roughly 2.9 million people. Birmingham is the largest local authority in the country by population and still accounts for well under half of the region.

Questions

Straight answers

Do you have West Midlands clients?

Yes. Quick Fit Shelving in Wednesbury has a full case study with screenshots. Lumenlux and Ariana Kitchens & Bedrooms are also West Midlands businesses with pages on the case studies, marked as portfolio entries rather than documented engagements.

It is a real regional track record, and it is why this page can describe how buyers here behave rather than guessing at it.

What can you build for a Birmingham business?

Websites, product catalogues and RFQ flows, online booking and ordering, trade account portals, AI agents that handle repetitive enquiries, automation that removes manual data entry, and custom software for teams who have outgrown an off-the-shelf tool.

The starting question is always the same: what is the one job this has to do? Everything gets scoped against that answer, which is why the estimates hold.

How much does a website cost in Birmingham?

The same as it costs anywhere else in the UK: £1,000 for up to five pages, £1,500 for up to ten, and £2,000+ for twenty or more. Work that is not measured in pages — an AI agent, an automation, a change to a site that already exists — is £50 an hour.

We do not price by postcode. Everything is negotiable, and whatever is agreed is fixed in writing before work starts. The pricing page sets out what counts as a page and what moves a quote either way.

How long does a website take to build?

Two to four weeks for a typical small business website, depending on how many pages there are and how quickly content comes back. AI agents, automation and custom software are scoped case by case, and you get a date alongside the quote before anything begins.

Search visibility runs on a slower and separate clock: new pages have to be crawled and indexed before they can rank, and nobody can put a date on that.

Do you build for trade and commercial businesses, not just consumer ones?

Yes, and they get a genuinely different site. A trade buyer qualifies a supplier in about thirty seconds, so capability, stock position and delivery coverage have to be answered on the page rather than promised in a callback.

That means a page per product line rather than a page per town. Quick Fit Shelving is built that way, and the trade suppliers page sets out the full structure.

I am in the Black Country. Should my site say Birmingham?

Lead with the town — Oldbury, Wednesbury, Halesowen, Bilston, Willenhall. That is what local customers type, it is what they trust, and it is a far less contested phrase than the city.

Then include Birmingham as one of the areas you serve, on its own page, if you genuinely serve it. Worth knowing: WS10 Wednesbury and B69 Oldbury are both Sandwell council, so build the area pages on councils and towns rather than on the postcode.

Can you guarantee first place for “web design Birmingham”?

No, and treat anyone who does as a warning sign — Google’s own guidance on hiring an SEO names a guaranteed number one ranking as a reason to walk away. It is one of the largest commercial search markets in the UK, and for most local businesses it is not where the enquiries come from anyway.

What is within our control is structural, and it is included in the build: a page for each area and service you genuinely offer, service-area markup that matches your Google Business Profile, valid structured data, fast loading on mobile data, and internal links that let all of it be found.

Do you only work with businesses in these five cities?

No. We are a software business, so the work is not constrained by geography — we build for clients anywhere in the UK, and our published case studies run from north-west London to the West Midlands to Bedfordshire.

Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Edinburgh are the cities we focus on, which is why each has a page of its own. If you are somewhere else, nothing about the price, the process or the timeline changes.
