Web development
The service behind every project in our portfolio — live sites for UK businesses, built so that a stranger on a phone can answer their own questions and get in touch in one tap.
Most of the sites we build are for businesses where the website is not a brand exercise. It’s the thing that takes the booking at 11pm on a Sunday, or loses it. That changes what matters: load time on a weak mobile signal, whether your prices are visible, whether a visitor in one town can confirm in seconds that you cover their area.
We build custom where custom is the right call — which is most of the time for a local service business, because it’s faster and there’s less to go wrong. Where a platform genuinely fits the job, we work in WordPress, Shopify and WooCommerce too. The decision is made on what you need to do with the site, not on what we’d prefer to build.
Fit
When this is the right job — and when it isn’t
We’d rather lose a project at this stage than sell you one you don’t need. The right-hand column is the honest half.
- Your site is slow on mobile data, which is where most of your visitors are
- A visitor can’t tell in ten seconds what you charge or whether you cover their area
- Enquiries arrive as one-line messages with no context, so every one costs you two replies
- You serve several towns but have one homepage trying to represent all of them
- You’re selling online and the checkout is losing people
- Your diary is already full — a new site would mostly save you admin, which is worth doing but is a smaller job than the one you’re about to be sold
- The real problem is your pricing, availability or reviews. We’ll say so before we build anything
- You need one page with an address and a phone number. Tell us and we’ll scope that instead
Scope
What’s included
Build
Custom by default, or WordPress, Shopify or WooCommerce where the platform earns its place. Either way you own the result.
Mobile performance
Measured against Core Web Vitals thresholds and tested on throttled connections, not just desktop broadband.
Local structure
A real page for each area you genuinely serve, with valid LocalBusiness markup. We won’t build pages for places you don’t cover.
Enquiry handling
Forms that ask for what you actually need and land somewhere you’ll see them — email or WhatsApp, not a dashboard you never open.

Questions
Straight answers
Do you work in WordPress and Shopify, or only custom builds?
Both. We build custom by default because for most local service businesses it’s faster, cheaper to run and has less that can break. But WordPress, Shopify and WooCommerce are all on the table where the platform genuinely fits — a real product catalogue, an existing store, a team that needs to edit content daily.
We’ll tell you which we think is right for your case and why, before you commit.
How long does a site take?
Two to four weeks for a typical small business site, depending on how many areas and services it needs to carry. You get a timeline before anything starts.
Will it rank on Google?
We build the structure that makes ranking possible, and we don’t promise a position — nobody can, and Google’s own guidance on hiring an SEO lists a guaranteed number-one ranking as a reason to walk away. See our SEO page for what that work actually involves.
